QUALITY ASSURANCE
At SMI quality assurance is tailored to the specific needs of the customer and the product. Quality control points, attributes, and standards are documented and filed in our state-of- art inspection lab. Using our digital inspection equipment, your key SPC dimensions are checked and plotted against mutually agreed upon quality standards. This assures that your specifications are met and that we will never exceed the statistically established bounds that may cause problems in your assembles. All new products receive first article inspection to assure that the tooling is capable of quality production. SMI will also provide capability studies of required by the customer.
A receiving inspection and report are completed for all incoming raw materials and purchased component, material certifications from our suppliers are required for all resins. A batch number system is also used for all production runs to maintain lot traceability for the raw material.
The quality staff includes quality inspectors on all shifts, a final auditor and a Quality Assurance Coordinator to insure product conformance.
